INTRODUCTION OF THE ACADEMY
Financial Management Academy (FIMA) is committed to strengthening public financial management (PFM) through effective, relevant, and specialized training for government officials. Established in 1997, FIMA draws its legacy from the erstwhile Audit and Accounts Centre (1962) and the Audit and Accounts Training Academy formed after independence. As the only public sector training institution dedicated to both upstream and downstream PFM activities, FIMA provides comprehensive training covering budget formulation, approval, execution, accounting, reporting, and auditing. In addition, the Academy offers specialized courses on performance auditing, climate performance auditing, environmental auditing, IT auditing, procurement auditing, and related fields. FIMA also designs and delivers customized training programs for various ministries, divisions, and public sector organizations, aiming to enhance human capital and strengthen financial governance across the government.
