Financial Management Academy (FIMA) is the only training wing of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh. FIMA is committed to strengthening public financial management (PFM) through effective, relevant, and specialized training for government officials. Established in 1997, FIMA draws its legacy from the erstwhile Audit and Accounts Centre (1962) and the Audit and Accounts Training Academy formed after independence.
As the only public sector training institution dedicated to both upstream and downstream PFM activities, FIMA provides comprehensive training covering budget formulation, approval, execution, accounting, reporting, and auditing. In addition, the Academy offers specialized courses on performance auditing, climate performance auditing, environmental auditing, IT auditing, procurement auditing, and related fields.
FIMA also designs and delivers customized training programs for various ministries, divisions, and public sector organizations, aiming to enhance human capital and strengthen financial governance across the government.

Headed by a Director General (Grade-II), FIMA operates as a center of excellence in financial management training. Its structured programs, experienced faculty, and practical approach ensure the development of both theoretical knowledge and applied skills among participants.

Over the years, FIMA has played a significant role in developing skilled and competent professionals in financial management. On average, the Academy has trained approximately 2,488 officials annually over the past five years across 68 different PFM and related topics.

FIMA actively collaborates with international organizations and institutions. It has facilitated and organized training programs in partnership with ITC-ILO, the United Nations (UN), and CIPFA (UK). Moreover, the Academy has extended its expertise beyond national boundaries by providing training to auditors from Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) such as Sri Lanka and East Timor.

FIMA strives to continuously improve and adapt its training programs in line with evolving national and global financial management practices. The Academy has made efforts to present comprehensive and relevant information through its official website for the benefit of stakeholders.
Recognizing that development is an ongoing process, FIMA welcomes constructive suggestions and feedback to further enhance its training quality and institutional effectiveness.
