Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Omar Faruk, a distinguished officer of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Audit & Accounts) Cadre, 18th Batch.

Mr. Faruk has an exceptional academic foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Social Science (Hons.) and Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, and further enriched his academic journey with an MBA in Human Resource Management (HRM) from the same institution. This strong combination of social science and management studies has shaped him into both a strategic thinker and an effective administrator.

In his illustrious career, Mr. Faruk has served the Government of Bangladesh in diverse and impactful leadership roles. Prior to this role, he served as Senior Finance Controller at the SFC (Works) office, where he oversaw critical financial management and control functions. He also served as Chief Accounts Officer at Dhaka South City Corporation, contributing significantly to urban financial governance. In addition, he held key positions as Director General of the Social Security Audit Directorate and Director General of the Local Government and Rural Development Audit Directorate, where he demonstrated remarkable leadership in strengthening public financial management, auditing, and accountability systems.

Beyond his technical expertise, Mr. Faruk is widely respected as a reform-oriented administrator, consistently promoting transparency, efficiency, and innovation in public institutions.
